What are they?

Awards to achievers in the business event industry in Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa.

There are 6 categories this year.

Why?

To highlight what the city has to offer to event organisers planning a conference, tradeshow or business seminar.

How will it be done?

As much as possible, this event will run online, with nomination forms and portfolio submissions being accepted on this website. Social media will be used to highlight the nominees, finalists, sponsors and judges.

Criteria

While the judges for each category set specific criteria, the following are applicable to all:

  • The person or business must operate in the Nelson Mandela Bay area (see map for boundaries)
  • They must work in the arena of conferences, tradeshows, seminars or business incentives (eg. not music or sport events)
  • Nominees will be contacted for agreement to take part in the process – they have the right to refuse

When is this happening?

The 2023 Awards launch on 12 April, with nomination phase closing on 20 May. 

Portfolio submissions are due 23 June.

Thereafter there is a first round of judging, and the announcement of finalists, followed by a month of radio and video interviews. 

Finalists appear before a panel of judges and an independent auditor in late September.

The Awards dinner will be on Wednesday 1 November 2023 at Running Waters.
